In the field the psix is 6 metres wide, but folds to 3.5 metres for road transport. The two digging unis are mounted on a double hinge controlled by two rams - it will move sidewas aas well as swinging round.
This hinge also means that the two digging units can shift sideways to follow the potato beds and to shift between two row and three rows per bed operation. The cross levelling is done here too so that the digging units are flat across side slopes
These rams are under computer control to make sure that everything moves in the right sequence using sensors that are inside the ram itself. We can be vey precise about cross level angle and the exact position of the digging units
